Shoulder Pain

Shoulder Pain
  • Shoulder pain is the 3rd most common musculoskeletal complaint in healthcare.
  • Shoulder pain  affects up to 26% of the general adult population.
  • Up to 38% of high school pitchers experience shoulder pain.
  • Shoulder pain is most common in females.

WHAT CAUSES SHOULDER PAIN?

There are many causes of shoulder pain. It can stem from traumatic injuries that tear the soft tissue, such as the rotator cuff or the labrum. But there are also more conditions that cause shoulder pain. The following reasons are why our clinic stands out in treatment of shoulder pain:

  • Arthritis – Long term wear and tear causes the body to deposit calcium to help strengthen the soft tissue attachments. These changes are permanent in nature. Our treatments help to restore lost range of motion, which reduces the progression of arthritic conditions.
  • Impingements in the neck or mid back – When nerves are pinched in the neck or mid back, wherever that nerve travels, so does pain, tingling, numbness, or even burning. We find these problem areas and improve these impingements.
  • Misalignments and fixations – When the neck, mid back, shoulder, elbow, or even the wrist/hand misalign, this can cause pain in the shoulder due to the body’s normal range of motion being distorted. This is similar to increasing the load on a rope. Having to pull harder in order to move will cause long term irreversible changes. Our providers have extensive knowledge in corrections of these conditions.
  • Repetitive micro-trauma – Constantly misusing a joint does significant damage to the body and its parts. If these parts are not working in tip-top shape, they will wear out quicker than they should and may end up needing surgery to get correction.
